Langa Nzuza, the chief Independent Electoral Commission officer responsible for monitoring the elections, confirmed that SADESMO had emerged victorious in the peaceful elections. SADESMO won seven positions and SASCO won four. SADESMO provincial Chairperson Ntokozo Mafuleka said the results were the proof that last year's elections were not legitimate. Celebrating 49 years of Solidarity, Freedom & Unity in diversity!

My fellow South Africans, the celebration of Human Rights' Day in 2024 is unique in many ways. For the first time since the dawn of our democracy, we stand on the brink of fundamental change in the political landscape of South Africa. Just as IFP did in 1994, in 2024 we will queue at voting stations across our country and use the power of our vote to install a new leadership into government. Those who have failed us will be removed, and those whom we trust will become our elected representatives. For the IFP, this day has always had added meaning, because on this day in 1975, Inkatha yeNkululeko yeSizwe was founded. On 21 March 1975, a group of committed patriots and freedom fighter gathered at KwaNzimela to reignite the struggle for liberation on South African soil. Inkatha was born to take this story in the right direction, and for 49 years we have succeeded. We have given to South Africa a powerful voice for truth, democracy, peace and freedom. We have been the voice of human

IFP rejects ANC's call for a truce in KZN

Image
The Inkatha Freedom Party has an appeal from President Cyril Ramaphosa for a meeting to settle their differences in KwaZulu-Natal ahead of the elections. This follows a clash, between the two parties in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday, when government sponsored event to honour the late Zulu King Dinizulu ka Cetshwayo, turned ugly resulting in 11 people being assaulted. 'WE DON'T WANT BLOODSHED IN KZN OR ANY PROVINCE' According to "Independent Online", the IFP rejected the call on Monday, saying it did not want such a meeting because the party was not involved in any violence. IFP have noted that President Cyril Ramaphosa has said in the media that a meeting between the IFP and ANC will take place, a glaring and irresponsible indictment towards the IFP suggesting we must meet because the IFP is involved. 'IFP IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY VIOLENCE' Hlengwa said that if such a meeting were to take place, the ANC would first have to explain the nature of the meeting, wh

President Cyril Ramaphosa calls for tolerance after ANC, IFP clashes.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for political tolerance in the elections following a spat between the African National Congress and Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend. This was after a number of ANC supporters were allegedly attacked by IFP supporters. This has been denied by the IFP, which said it will report the ANC women's League to the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) for making an inflammatory statement. Ramaphosa on Sunday said they would investigate the attack of ANC supporters in the province. He said what happened was unfortunate and they were against any violence. The police would also investigate the attack.

Political leaders need to be careful of what they say.

The Inkatha Freedom Party leader Velenkosini Hlabisa says KwaZulu-Natal senior leaders need tonbe careful  of what they say. He was speaking on the KwaCeza incident that left more than a dozen people hurt last weekend. Economic Development MEC and ANC provincial chair, Sboniso Duma grabbed the mic from Zulu traditional prime Minister and IFP NEC member, Thulasizwe Buthelezi. This was while Buthelezi was making comments about ANC politicians at an event to commemorate the death of King Dinuzulu. Duma accused him of using a government occasion to criticism opponents. Yesterday Hlabisa condemned statement by the ANC in KZN and the provincial government in which they slammed Buthelezi, for using the wrong platform for his utterances. Some words which were used you won't find them said by ANC leaders at a national level. That is different, you find between ANC in KwaZulu-Natal and aNC at a national level. You can't want peace on the one hand but on the other hand you are carrying

IFP accuses ANC leader of disrespecting King Misuzulu, Zulu nation after mic grab incident.

https://youtu.be/ZPqFKxkXrKw?si=1TUw67-Vo_i8xCNR The Inkatha Freedom Party has accused the ANC KwaZulu-Natal leader Siboniso Duma of disrespecting the Zulu monarch and nation. This comes after tensions between the IFP, and the ANC reared their ugly head at the 110th commemoration of the death of King Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo on Saturday. Videos has been circulating on social media of Duma grabbing the microphone from the Zulu prime minister, Thulasizwe Buthelezi, who is also an IFP mayor in Zululand District Municipality. It was clear what Buthelezi wanted to say about the ANC's provincial secretary when the mic was taken from him.  The chants spoke of a disrespectful chicken that was out of order. The nation is under the huge shame as our King Misuzulu Zulu was disrespected in front of many cameras and people who were watching saw everything that happened there. How can our own King be disrespected in that form of a way, who does that? The

IFP ''excited'' as it takes three Newcastle wards off ANC in by elections.

The Inkatha Freedom Party is so excited because it has taken three wards off the ANC in the Newcastle Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal in the latest round of by-elections, which were held on Wednesday.   In doing so it has consolidated its control over the municipality which it took off the ANC 2021 local government elections and continued to build on the run of by elections wins it has secured around the province since then.   IFP KwaZulu-Natal provincial chairperson Thami Ntuli says the party was ''excited'' by its ''resounding success'' in the latest by elections. ''These results again underscore the significant growing support for the IFP. We extended our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters, volunteers and structures for their unwavering dedication to our party.''   The IFP took 25.59% of the vote in Newcastle. As we stood on the threshold of democracy, however, it was not good enough to hope that the majority party would never fai
